It had to happen - the Ashes are coming soon.  Will the Aussies find someone capable of bowling spin? Will Swann fly for England? Will Onions make the Aussies weep?  Will they waltz to Strauss' tune?  How many more bad puns will I come up with during the series?   Shocked

Discuss here....

I know, the idea of the Aussies finding a decent spinner...utterly ridiculous.  I haven't seen the full squad, but is it a safe bet to say they haven't picked Bryce McGain?     Wink

So, here we go again then....

Will the Aussies face Monty's charge?

For whom will the Bell toll?

Will KP drive the Aussies nuts?

Will England put the Aussies to the Broad sword????

Just one thing left to say.....

"And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen

I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land"

Bring on the Convicts....

Well, at this precise moment, who gives a fig what's going to happen in 18 months time?  England have the Ashes back!    Very Happy

(To the tune of 'Three Lions')

"They're coming home
They're coming home
They're coming,
Ashes coming home!"

Cheer up Ricky Ponting!  I'm sure someone will show you the way to the Channel 9 commentry box! And when you get there you'll find some of your old ates from when Australia used to win series in England!

Very Happy   Very Happy

I'm sorry, but I am going to have to bask in this for a while before I start thinking about South Africa this winter - they might be a better side than
last time England went there, when they had that incompetant bullying bafoon, Ray Jennings as their coach.

That's enough of that - back to the basking......

If you want to re-live last Sunday, you can do so with all 7 hrs and 45 minutes on BBC iPlayer:
